New term begins

Welcome to the Spring Term and a happy new year to everyone.

We have an exciting term ahead with lots of events to look forward to including the continuation of the Tim Peake Space Project with an evening stargazing event, a visit from Paralympian Dan James and our residential trip to Heatree. Keep an eye on the blog and our facebook page for more details.

ABOUT

The village of East Anstey is situated on the edge of beautiful Exmoor. There has been a school here since 1880, the School Board concerned having been formed five years earlier.

The Victorian building has, of course, been changed and added to over the years. The school comprises three classrooms, a small hall space, playgrounds and playing fields. Office space and kitchen areas are part of the main building with cloakrooms serving the class spaces.

The number of children attending the school has fluctuated enormously under the influence of changes in the law governing age ranges, rural depopulation, war and the closure of other local schools. In recent years, pupil numbers have averaged 40. We draw from a large rural area stretching from Dulverton to Molland..
